| Notes:
The "Star of Life" is the standard symbol for pre-hospital emrgency care. It identifies vehicles, uniforms, and equipment as being a part of the emergency medical care system. Each of the six arms represents a phase of EMS:
- Detection
- Reporting
- Response
- On Scene Care
- Care During Transport
- Transfer to Definitive Care
The symbol is often integrated onto patches or logos. There may also be some slight cosmetic variations in order for the symbol to fit nicely into color schemes, etc.
