Mark was a paid EMT who worked as a volunteer in his home town of Cape Vincent, NY when he was not on duty. On the night of January 30, 2009, Mark responded to a call in Cape Vincent. During treatment, the patient became angry and retrieved a rifle from a room in the house. Mark was struck as he attempted to escape. He was pronounced dead at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY.
I cannot find plans for a permanent memorial at this time.
