There are three dedications on the plaque that is set into a small granite post. It is dedicated to all those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks, those who aided in the rescue efforts, and to the residents of Nutley who were killed in the attacks.
There is also a quote on the plaque that reads:
