| Notes:
Five firefighters lost their lives when the truss roof at a car dealership collapsed during interior operations. This event helped bring the dangers of truss construction into the conciousness of the Fire Service.
Today, a memorial stands on Main St. It is made up of a large Maltese Cross surrounded by five granite columns, standing in memory of the fallen fire fighters.
