This monument stands in memory of all Massachusetts firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Aside from the statue, the monument also consists of a memorial bell and water running over a granite engraving of The Firefighters Prayer. The walkway around the memorial consists of bricks bought by individuals and organizations in memory of fallen firefighters.

I was at the dedication to this monument along with some of my brothers from Amherst. Despite the light rain, the dedication went nicely. One of the men I was there with took these pictures.
