Emergency! Station 51 |
Location of Memorial: Station 127 2049 East 223rd St
Carson, CA |
Dedication: |

| Notes:
This fire station was used to portray "Station 51" in the 1970's television show "Emergency!" Although it is (and was) a real LA County fire station, there was no station 51, which is why that number was chosen. The station houses Truck 127 and Engine 127. Truck 127 actually appeared in some of the shows episodes.
"Emergency!" played an important part in educating the public about services offered by the fire service. It also gave a big boost to the struggling paramedic program at the time. Many people credit this series for helping in the success of pre-hospital emergency care.
There is a plaque on the building naming the station in honor of series creator Robert A. Cinader.
Several LA County firefighters, fire officers, and apparatus played roles as themselves during the season. This included a captain in the first season and Firefighter Mike Stoker. Stoker played the engineer on Engine 51.
