Notes:

Dedicated to Illinois Firefighters who have list their lives in the line of duty. The memorial is an impressive concrete pillar etched to look as though it is made of stone. There are three life-sized bronze firefighters who are performing various firefighting tasks on the pillar, including one who is helping another reach the top via ladder.

The base of the pillar is etched with the phrase:

DEDICATED TO THE FIREFIGHTERS OF ILLINOIS WHO HAVE GIVEN
THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY AND TO THOSE WHO
HEROICALLY SERVE WITH COURAGE, PRIDE, AND HONOR

The entire monument stands in a brick courtyard with an in-laid maltese cross.
