Notes:
This is the first book I've featured on the site as a memorial. It seems appropriate to include books like this as a memorial to events.
On July 3, 1994, a wildfire started on Storm King Mountain. Initially reported as being in South Canyon, the fire burned for days. On July 6, 1994, fourteen firefighters (from various crews) lost their lives while fighting the fire. This book is an in-depth look at the fire and the story of how those men and women gave their lives.
There is a memorial in Prineville, OR in memory of the event. Nine of the fallen firefighters were from Prineville.
